For as long as I can remember I was raised in isolation, completely cut off from civilization. Fearful of those who might hunt me, my Guardian and mentor, Feron, required me to present as a male wood elf within the unnatural forests we often stalked. Under his strict tutelage I developed a keen, calculating mind, always told that truth is revealed only through clarity of mind and investigative reason.
Each tale Feron heard of an unnatural entity stalking the lands led us to some new, remote area where we sought and hunted the dark and ancient forces of the realms. Shadows and foliage our only shelter, I discovered an affinity for our dark prey and came to believe my connection to them was deeper than Feron would have me believe.

As years passed, I came to realize that Feron’s frequent disappearances, which invariably led us to some new locale, were actually sojourns into the lands of civilized men. Often he would return, beneath some strange influence and tell tales of our homeland, the Kingdom of Aldovia, where we lived free of the conflicts between elves and the other races of the world. He would speak of my noble, nay regal, upbringing and my great purpose in the world that would one day be revealed. Yet, come morning, Feron would always laugh off my questions, stating these were the but the fairy-tale fictions he had told me as a child.
Eventually Feron began to bring me on the occasional wandering, where I was introduced to the lights and sounds of the urban landscape. These wonders were often clouded by the questioning looks I would catch amongst the locals. Isolated still, even within a crowded room.
Recently, having dispatched a particularly malicious fey within The Cloakwoods, Feron set off to roving… and did not return. After a fortnight waiting I set out south, following the path Feron had taken until all traces vanished upon the threshold of a cozy, owl themed tavern known as The Lusty Strigiforme.
