Letter from Barovia

Dear Papa,
I don't rightly know when this will reach you, or how, but I'm writing anyway.
I made it, Papa! All the way to the Empty Lands, just like I said I would! Though "made it" might be generous: I was one bad month from slinging mead for tips when a letter found me instead. Now I'm somewhere called Barovia, which doesn't exist on any map.
I'm joined on this adventure by five new comrades. There's Sunfall, a cleric of Lathander. Half-dwarf, warm as anything. You'd like her. I think she'd fuss over you the way she fusses over all of us.
Sunfall's friend Karku is a tortle. A wizard from Candlekeep. Terribly gentle, terribly clever, and he's as fascinated by the moon as I am, in his own studious way.
We've got some muscle in our little group, too. Atwaad and Gabriel are broody, upcountry, elf-blooded fellows. Atwaad's a pale and rugged dhampir; Gabriel's a dark and delicate sylvan elf. Don't worry, Papa... I don't think either of them are interested in women.
And there's Nyx: a real life tabaxi, Papa! The feline man moves with the grace of a jungle cat! Honestly, I'm a little jealous. Granny Feldstone told me that if I follow the Old Faith, I'll be able to move like that someday. I pray to Selûne she's right.
Look after yourself, Papa. I'll write again when I've got more to tell.
Yours,
Moon Flower
